Progress of the Takamatsu Construction Group

The over 100-year history and the path of progress of the Takamatsu Construction Group from its founding in 1917 to today.

1917 - 1980

From its founding in 1917 up to the 1980s
Founding, and reorganization as a stock corporation

1917

Founded as Takamatsu-Gumi by Tomekichi Takamatsu.

At the time of its founding, most buildings were made of wood with very few reinforced concrete buildings. It was in that kind of era that Takamatsu Gumi constructed the sports grounds of what is now Osaka Prefectural Kitano High School. At the time oxcarts were the main means of transportation, and they apparently had to transport soil from the hills of Senri to fill the ground.

1965

Established as Takamatsu-Gumi Co., Ltd

1971

Registered as real estate brokers

1978

Received permit from Minister of Construction for construction business

1983

Opened Tokyo branch office in Chuo-ku, Tokyo

1990 - 1999

In the 1990s, the company changed its name from Takamatsu-Gumi to Takamatsu-Kensetsu Co., Ltd. (Takamatsu Corporation) and was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange

1990

Company name changed to Takamatsu Corporation Co., Ltd.

The company's name was changed from Takamatsu-Gumi to Takamatsu Corporation, reflecting expectations for the next new step of development while building on the history to date. Since gathering all employees together had become difficult due to the increasing number of employees and the opening of new branches and business offices, the Three Basic Credos were also documented in writing in order to communicate the philosophy of the company to all employees and unify the direction they were aiming for.

1993

Established Yamato Construction Co., Ltd. (Osaka) (currently Takamatsu Techno Service Co., Ltd. (Osaka))

1994

Established Nihon Kensho Co., Ltd. (Osaka) (currently Takamatsu Estate Co., Ltd.)

1996

Main office building completed at current location (Shin-kitano)

1997

Established Yamato Construction Co., Ltd.(Tokyo) (currently Takamatsu Techno Service Co., Ltd.)

Listed in Second Section of Osaka Securities Exchange

1999

Acquired current building in Ginza and moved Tokyo main office to Ginza building

2000 -

21st Century: Expanding the Group through M&A

2000

Komatsu Construction Industry Co., Ltd. (currently Asunaro Aoki Construction Co., Ltd.) joined the Group

Komatsu Paving Co., Ltd. (currently Asunaro Road Co., Ltd.) joined the Group

Established Nihon Kensho Co., Ltd. (Tokyo) (currently Takamatsu Estate Co., Ltd.)

Listed in Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange

2002

Aoki Construction Co., Ltd. (currently Asunaro Aoki Construction Co., Ltd.) joined the Group

Aoki Marine Co., Ltd. joined the Group

Changed name of Komatsu Construction Industry Co., Ltd. to Asunaro Construction Co., Ltd. and changed name of Komatsu Paving Co., Ltd. to Asunaro Road Co., Ltd.

Started new Group called Green Wood Alliance (GWA)

With the joining of Komatsu Construction (which changed its name to Asunaro Construction) in 2000 and Aoki Construction in 2002, a new Group called the Green Wood Alliance (GWA) was born. Both company names are related to trees in Japanese, and the group was established on the common stance that part of their corporate philosophies was to care for both nature and the environment.

2004

Suminoe Kogei Co., Ltd. joined the Group

Asunaro Construction Co., Ltd. and Aoki Construction Co., Ltd. merged and were renamed Asunaro Aoki Construction, Co., Ltd.

2005

Established JP Home Co., Ltd.

Listed in the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Securities Exchanges

2006

Kongo-Gumi Co., Ltd. joined the Group

Established Daiwa Rock Co., Ltd. (currently Toko Geotech Co., Ltd.), which joined the Group

Toko Construction Co., Ltd. (currently Toko Geotech Co., Ltd.) joined the Group

2007

Nakamura Shaji Co.,Ltd. joined the Group

2008

Mirai Construction Co.,Ltd.,
Mirai Geotech Co., Ltd.
(currently Toko Geotech Co.,Ltd.),
Techno Marix Co., Ltd.
(currently Aoki Marine Co.,Ltd.), and
M's Co.,Ltd. joined the Group

Takamatsu Corporation became a holding company and changed its name to Takamatsu Construction Group Co., Ltd.

Moved to a structure where Takamatsu Construction Group is a holding company to pave the way for further growth in corporate value and future success and development for the Group as a whole stemming from the GWA corporate group which was centered on Takamatsu Corporation and Asunaro Aoki Construction. It was the beginning of a new structure in which the Takamatsu Construction Group and the Asunaro Aoki Construction Group became two major driving forces, leveraging their respective strengths to evolve and grow while striving to create a truly competitive corporate group.

2010

Aoki Marine Co., Ltd. took over Techno Marix Co., Ltd.

Toko Construction Co., Ltd, Mirai Geotech Co., Ltd. and Daiwa Rock Co., Ltd. merged to become Toko Geotech Co., Ltd.

2011

Established Niigata Mirai Construction Co., Ltd.

2012

Shimada Gumi Co.,Ltd. joined the Group

2017

Yamato Construction Co., Ltd. changed its name to Takamatsu Techno Service Co., Ltd.

Nihon Kensho Co., Ltd. changed its name to Takamatsu Estate Co., Ltd.

2018

Mibu Corporation Co.,Ltd. joined the Group

2019

Tatsumi Planning Co., Ltd. (currently Takamatsu Build Co.,Ltd.) joined the Group Established Takamatsu House Co.,Ltd.

Asunaro Aoki Construction Co., Ltd. became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Takamatsu Construction Group Co., Ltd. through TOB.
Asunaro Aoki Construction Co.,Ltd. delisted from stock exchanges

2021

Taisho Kogyo Corporation joined the Group

Transferred all shares in Niigata Mirai Construction Co., Ltd. to Honma Road Corporation

2022

Moved to Prime Market of Tokyo Stock Exchange

Moved from a structure where three companies (Takamatsu Construction Group, Takamatsu Corporation, Asunaro Aoki Construction) form the core, to a structure where six companies (Takamatsu Construction Group, Takamatsu Corporation, Asunaro Aoki Construction, Mirai Construction, Toko Geotech, Takamatsu House) form the core.

2023

Transferred all shares in Asunaro Road Co., Ltd. to Watanabe Sato Co., Ltd.

Merged Takamatsu Techno Service Co., Ltd. (Osaka) with Takamatsu Techno Service Co.,Ltd. (Tokyo)
